The Fallout Series

Well I say the Fallout Series, I personally have only played Fallout 3 and New Vegas but I'd love to know whatpeople thought of 1 and 2 compared to the very different looking later games.

So what do you love or hate about the Fallout series? How do you choose to play, evil or good? Which weapons do you favour?

Personally in Fallout 3 I'm an explosives and sniper rifle person, but I think I need to get a sneakier companion because Fawkes always starts yelling and shooting before I can snipe the enemies and they all come rushing over! Dogmeat is my favourite thing ever and I'm always so worried he's going to die I use most of my stimpaks on him.

In New Vegas I used the Mysterious Magnum and ran around the Wasteland being a total angel, helping the NCR and charging into the Legion camp and taking them all out with a silenced sniper rifle and lots of mines. Then I dicked them all over and went independent, becoming QUEEN OF INDEPENDENT VEGAS 4EVA. I'd play it again because Boone was such a good companion I never bothered with any of the others so I feel like I missed out on a bunch on content.

However these games are also pretty glitchy. My favourite glitch ever was when a Deathclaw was charging towards me across the wasteland, when all of a sudden it shot up into the sky until it disappeared. For the next half an hour I was constantly "in danger" and Boone was running around pointing his sniper rifle in the air and telling me to be cautious...

Tell me your Fallout stories!

I've only played Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and I didn't get on with New Vegas because I just didn't enjoy it as much as 3. I like the sound of Boone though, he seems cool.

I'm a sniper as well, and I like playing with Butch as a companion simply because of the history between the two and how flirtatious he is with my character. TUNNEL SNAKES R00L. Dogmeat is also my favourite thing ever, although he keeps standing in doorways and preventing me from leaving and entering rooms.

I try to keep my karma neutral, but sometimes it errs towards the side of good, which I don't mind. I'm an achievement whore, so I get to the level milestones at one karma, then reload a previously saved game and do a whole bunch of things to alter my karma level, then level up again...

I've also had the shooting up into the sky glitch, and I've had enemies just floating in mid-air before.

Fallout 3 is probably my favourite game ever, although it is really really laggy on my computer because my computer isn't quite up to the graphics specification.

I also wanted to add that my character is addicted to jet, and even if I have her cured, I use jet so often that she soon becomes addicted again. Why is my character addicted to fumes of dung, of all things?

I just cannot keep my karma neutral, I think I'm too much of a bleeding heart! I've been addicted to pretty much everything, but I think it's funny that you can get addicted to a particular kind of alcohol and not alcohol in general. So I'm addicted to whiskey, but downing vodka is fine? OK then Fallout universe. :P

The other day I had the common glitch of a dead body jerking around a bit so I shot it out of interest to see if it would make it stop moving and it flew at me. Scarier than anything I'd seen so far!

Fallout games are great! I haven't played for a while now, though. I had to stop in the middle of New Vegas because Mass Effect 3 had to go and get released and I can't handle 2 large games like that at the same time >_I once started writing an erotica story involving my female Fallout 3 character and the Talon Mercs (why do they all look like handsome young men? Is the merc pay so bad they have to dabble in porn at the side?). Then I realized that it was basically rape... so I never finished.

Fallout 2 is the best game ever made. I started playing Fallout 3, but I'm not quite convinced. I vastly prefer the old system with simple graphics and turn-based fighting system.

I've only played 3 and New Vegas. I found 3 really depressing so have never finished it. But Vegas I loved. All the shooting, exploring, sneaking and talking, but far less depressing.

I did have some good fun messing around at The Republic of Dave in 3 though.

I got Fallout 3 last year for my birthday. I'm not a big gamer, but it's fun when I want to dress up and shoot at stuff. Due to my family issues, the story kills me when I get to the end of it, but I'm still pissed that

Spoiler
I'm such a bleeding heart when I play. In my EQ days, I always played paladins and good bards.
