The last book I bought was The Adoption Papers by Jackie Kay. It's a book of poems for my course. The subject of adoption always leads to a discussion on abortion, and I can't face that :(

Last week I bought a copy of Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch for 99p off of eBay. It arrived today and until then I had no idea that it was a signed 1st edition copy. Pleasant surprise!

My 'Easy Tarot Handbook' by Josephine Ellershaw arrived today. It's actually very interesting, and a lot less hippy-dippy than I thought it'd be. However it does specify the correct way to purify quartz, for which I either need a natural stream/the sea, or pure sea salt water and moonlight. I may skip that part...

The Encyclopedia of Mythology by Arthur Cotterell. It covers Norse, Celtic, and classical mythology, with lots of pictures and tons of text in small-ish font. And it's BIG! My only complaint it that it switches between Roman and Greek names in the classical section. The beautiful painting of Freya and her cats searching for Odur makes up for it, though.

Lucky you don't live in Europe-Spiggy would burgle you for that. ;)

"Wicked" because I was told it was a good book, and "Hocus Pocus" by Vonnegut because I have managed to go twenty-two years without reading a Vonnegut novel and I still don't know how I managed that.

1984 by George Orwell and Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier. But my mum's banned me from reading until we're on holiday because I have a habit of finishing my holiday books before we're even there.

Ja Till Liv! by Liv Strömquist.

I just read about her having released a new book, in a newspaper, and thought "How perfect!". I've been meaning to buy one of her books for my mum, so I'll buy this one, read it, and then give it to her.

I love Strömquist's comics, I can't wait for the book to arrive (ordered it online.)

"Midnight Alley" by Rachel Caine; I'm getting into the Morganville Vampires series. Vampires in general actually; except Twilight. Never Twilight.

Solitary Witch: The Ultimate Book of Shadows for the New Generation by Silver RavenWolf. It's aimed mostly at young adults and covers topics from the history of Witchcraft to acne and eating disorders. Silver RavenWolf writes very well so I'm really enjoying reading it.

I bought Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell about 5 minutes ago.
A couple of months back I was in Glasgow when they were filming the movie adaptation of it. My boyfriend and I were sitting in a doorway drinking coffee, oblivious to anything going on, and one of the film crew asked us if we'd move since they were about to start setting up. That somehow popped into my head this evening and I decided to check out the book. Pointless story, I just felt like sharing it for some reason. :p

Well, I haven't bought it, but I've borrowed The Bell Jar from the library. I started reading it online months ago but the format was so ugly I just had to get it in book form to finish.

Last night I ordered 'Threepenny Memoir - The Lives of a Libertine' by Carl Barat. He's been my (one of my) favourite musician(s) since I was 13, and apparently he's a great writer. And I had £12 left on my Waterstones gift card, and it was £11.23 so YAY.
