Carry On Cleo.
Winner.

I love the ending, how they actually do end up together, it's so funny when he jumps in the bath with her.

INFAMY! INFAMY! THEY'VE ALL GOT IT IN FOR ME!

Firstly i wacthed Final destination 3 but i missed 10 or 20 mins of it but i didn't mind. Overall i found the end really twisted and i guess death really did get it's payback.

The i swicthed the channel over and watched a bit of American Pie 2 and till this day i still love that film.

That finished round midnight then i went to BBC 1 and wacthed Remember the titans. I've wacthed this film before and found it really good it kind of still makes me have a tear in my eye everytime it ends.

Tideland by Terry Gilliam

A lot less gratuitously surrealist / FX laden than I thought it was going to be, and as a result a lot more powerful and upsetting.

I do think grief was an underdeveloped, or unexplored, notion in this film. Innocence and the 'adult' view of innocenc beautifully and disturbingly expressed. Del and Dickens and Jeliza Rose were all exquisitely acted. Wish it didn't end with some normal woman on a train rescuing Jeliza Rose though. Too easy.

Tideland is the only Gilliam film I wouldn't want to watch again, because it is so powerful and somewhat sordid. In much the same way as I wouldn't want to watch Downfall or the Machinist again.

Oh God, Downfall was brilliant but absolutely grim. I certainly don't want to see it again. That image of the Hitler youth girl with the long blonde plaits saluting and then shooting herself tends to stick, rather.

I actually watched The Machinist a second time, didn't have the same impact as the first time. Scared the bejesus out of my friend though.

I just watched Little Miss Sunshine, I thought it was wonderful :)
Every character really brought something amazing to the mix.
Really cheered me up!

I watched American Pie 3 yesterday and yet it still makes me laugh everytime I wacth it.
I also wathced Liar Liar and I think it's an ok family movie but you can clearly see that Jim Carrey is becoming a typecast.
Then lastly i wacthed 40 days and 40 nights, i found the film funny and heart warming at the same time.

Got most of the way through Women in Love, then the computer wouldn't play it. I took the DVD out and there's a bloody massive scratch in it. Fucking ridiculous, I only got it on Saturday!
Another trip to HMV is in order I think.
I was actually quite enjoying the film too. Pah.

The last film I remember watching (I fell asleep before we finished our Kevin Smith film night) was Chasing Amy. I enjoyed it but I don't know how much that opinion was swayed by good friends and whiskey... I do remember that I wanted to punch Ben Affleck's character for most of the film and cuddle Jason Lee.

Can we put plays in this section? It seems to fit best.

Because last night I went to see 'Every Good Boy Deserves a Favour' by Tom Stoppard at the National Theatre.

I still haven't worked out why it's called that. Still. It's a short play, just over an hour long with no interval, and takes place in a lunatic asylum in Russia. One man, Alexander Ivanov, has been put into the asylum for trying to speak out against the government - he claims that sane people are put in lunatic asylums for speaking out against the government... He is sharing a cell with a man, coincidentally (or is it, etc) also called Alexander Ivanov, who believes he is followed by an orchestra which no-one else can hear. Most of the stage is given over to the orchestra, which cheekily includes 'musicians' such as the doctor assigned to the Ivanovs case (his surname is also Ivanov and he plays the violin in a 'real' orchestra, as a hobby) and about eight amazing dancers who come flying out of the orchestra during the second Ivanov's most extreme delusion and have a dance / fight.

Some of the dialogue is a little too glib and the puns too clever to be convincing - this is actaully partly the purpose of the play, it later turns out, and there's a lot of discussion on the nature of truth, and the truths of geometry and human decency, and 'flexibility'. It's not the most well written Stoppard play I've ever seen or read, but, actually, it was the most enjoyable I've watched. (I've only seen 'Rock and Roll' and 'Jumpers' before this.)

Partly I liked it because one of the dancer/musicians was a dish. I like a man who can do karate style ballet in full evening dress.

Watched 'The Craft' last night.

Don't know how accurately it portrays modern witchcraft.

Totally hilarious though.

Last night I watched a movie called "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind".
It wasn't one of the best movies I've seen, I didn't understand the plot & it confused me.
I ended up switching it off halfway through.
In my tv guide it says it's a rom-com, nothing funny about it. I thought it would be good, as it had Jim Carrey in it, and I love his other movies.

Also yesterday I watched "The Mist", I missed the end of it so I shall watch it today. It was pretty scary tbh, I want to know what was in there! Very gory also, especially when it got dark...

Oh my God, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of the most wonderfully romantic films ever. Seriously, I love it. It's all about the power of love. Ok, yeah, it's not got the most linear storyline, but all it asks of you is to pay attention and it all makes sense, the whole thing comes around and you find out what has happened and what will happen.

But if you just wanted some mindless fluff, that is little more than pink bubblegum for the eyes, then go and see Bride Wars or something like that.

I suppose maybe if I wasn't so tired I may of found it easier to pay attention and I would've understood it.

I will probably give it 4 stars.

I can't believe you've only just round to watching, either clockbox.

Honestly, isn't it something you watch a soon as you hit drinking age.

(Never try and keep up with the drinks you see them consuming during the film, that's a wrong and dangerous drinking game. Especially lighter fluid.)

God I know, the hell kind of student am I?

...That sounds like a really fun, potentially fatal, game... lighter fluid aside (far, far aside), think how much whisky you'd have to consume...

The best drinking game for Withnail and I is to have a bottle of wine and take a drink every time a character drinks. You'll still get pissed. (And may need two bottles of wine. Cake and fine wine.)

Also, now you've seen it, you will realise that every single line from that film is utterly quotable.

We watched Babylon A.D last night. Seriously guys, dont watch it. Its 1 hour and 20 minutes of pants. The story was quite good, but they did nothing with it at all. I was left thinking wtf?

Last night I watched the girl next door.
At first I thought it was going to be the whole 'American Pie I really really need to loose my virginity because I am so tired of being a virgin'.
But while I was watching the film I realised that it wasn't what i predicted.
The whole film for me was more like 'I fell in love with a porn star and made a good sex education tape so I can get my arse out of any problems I have landed myself in'.

Overall I think it was a alright film.
Tonight I am stuck between watching Kiss the Girls or watching Vanilla Sky [again].

I went to the cinema two days ago and watched Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.
It was crap.
True, Bill Nighy is fantastic as a vampire but everything else was stupid and boring.

The plot:
Hairy guy with a funny nose and bulgy eyes decides he's not going to be a slave anymore.
Hairy guy falls in love with vampire chick.
Hairy guy fucks vampire chick.
Hairy guy escapes with other hairy men.
Vampire chick's father finds out that hairy guy fucked his daughter and gets really angry.
Vampire chick gets executed.
Hairy men overtake the city.
Hairy guy kills vampire's chick father.
Or so he thinks.

Special effects are nice, acting is horrible (except for Bill Nighy), costumes are funny and the plot is far from imaginative and it's very predictable.

Final verdict:
A jolly stupid way to spend an evening.

A week or so ago I went to see the Pink Panther 2, been trying to think of how to describe it ever since. Here goes...

It's alright, I suppose. Funny at parts, other parts just pure nonsense.
I didn't see the first one, so I'm not sure about some parts.
Also, why wasn't the actual Pink Panther in it?
I was gutted, I loved the one from the cartoons.
