RE: Reasons to be Proud Of Yourself

Managed an hour of Insanity workout without feeling like I was going to die after. In actual fact I feel pretty awesome, getting fitter has given me so much confidence in myself and my body :)

Last night I earned £8 in tips, half of that due to my beery knowledge and recommendations. I'm loving myjob, although it's tiring. The other day I filled in a survey, and when it got to 'who's the chief income earner in your household', for the first time, I could select 'me'!

I'm very proud of myself, because I managed to download iTunes and all that jazz entirely by myself! What can I say, I'm a bit of a tecnophobe biggrin

Got evicted today without notice with only an hour to get all our stuff out. I stayed calm and got all the things I needed and sorted a temporary place to stay and didn't cry or anything it's all fine I am a grown up.

^ fair play!

I stood in front of the Youth Defence propaganda-giving-out stand for an hour with my mam backing me up (I insisted I would be fine alone but she wanted to stay with me. course it was lovely to have her support!). I didn't budge once, even though there were fuckers staring me down trying to intimidate me. I stood right in front of them, and in front of the two old men holding clipboards and petitions, and I didn't move an inch. Proud to say my mam called them fascists when we were leaving :P

Youth Defence - Miss Chris wrote a really good thing about it

Yesterday I continued with a 10 hour task that is actually 20 hours, and was going to see an old friend for lunch who is so smart and clever I got an anxiety attack at the thought of going, but that made me think I probably really *do* need to see my friends and not forget how important they are to me. So I went, and lunch was lovely, and I'm really glad I made a good choice.

The boss was away and unable to make any decisions so I paid and wrote the copy for a press article about the shop because an awesome opportunity came up and she'd probably have let it slip by otherwise.

I went up to the top of the bell tower at church despite my terror of heights. I didn't have a panic attack and I even went up to the edge. :)

^woah! Go you :)

I walked to town today (which isn't that far but it's still a decent walk) and met a friend in the library, then we came back to mine. It was nice. All of it was nice. I socialised, plus I walked there, and I didn't feel too bad about myself. Hopefully I can keep taking little steps.

^Little steps are good Paula! You're on the right track, lovely.

I was able to say goodbye to my kids without crying. It's a first.

^ I bet you cried afterwards though, you can't lie to us!! :)

I just re-read my article lined above for the first time in ages, and when I first wrote it I considered writing it under a pen name because it's so personal, but now I'm glad that I didn't, and even though it is personal it's a well-presented, strong argument and I'm proud that I wrote it.

Also, in spite of about 12 years of vegetarianism, and according to my super picky brother, I make a fabulous chicken dinner. I RULE THE KITCHEN, hurray!

No, I didn't. It was a rough end of year, I'm really tired and had terrible back pain for a couple of weeks so I'm just glad I'm gonna be able to relax for a while. The fact that the kids didn't cry helped too. They were all smiling, giving me hugs and dancing because it was summer. It was like a big goodbye party! Next week however, I have to empty my class since I'm changing school... that will probably make me cry.

I just read your article, it is excellent and you should be really proud!

Me and 3 friends who are in the church choir learned and performed (from memory pretty much ) Lift thine eyes from Elijah. It went really well and we're hoping to record it for the cd we want to produce with some other friends. Here is a link to a recording of the song. We had 1 sop, 2 2nd sops and an alto and did it in a different key, in a church with better acoustic so it didn't sound as shrill at the top as  this occaisionally does. :D

Congrats Hayley and Lulu!

Cooking is coming more naturally to me. I've cooked regular meals as well as Mother's Day, Memorial Day, and Father's Day. Next is Independence Day but I'm hoping to get to the point of making a full Thanksgiving and Christmas meal.

^ Cnad, that's amazing! Eee!

My reason to be proud of myself is that I'm running my own household, and working. I feel like such a cool cat.

I've almost completely renovated my boyface's and I's new home all by myself(since he works all the time not that he's lazy).
Just have to put new panelling up in the kitchen, scrub the bath tub one last time, paint the walls and then sand and re-stain all the wood floors.

I'm really proud of myself. For about $1,000 I raised the house value by $15,000 and made it look pretty.

Also, I OWN A HOUSE NOW GUYS! IT'S WEIRD AND EXCITING!

I think this DIY/renovating thing my be the path for me, I'm actually good at it and I've fallen in love with power tools(they go well with my obsession for creating everything).

^ well done Sara!

Jethro called me yesterday. I missed his call because I wasn't minding my phone, but even if I was paying attention to it, I wouldn't have picked up. He also sent me two texts. The first one was a rant to the effect of "how dareee you ignore me never contact me again weh weh" and then the second one (send 20 mins after the first one) was "omg I'm so sorry I'm just so worried about you I will always care about you I'm so sorry don't mind me please." So I text him back saying "I don't owe you one single thing. Respect me and give me my space. Leave me in peace to move on." And he replied with a very manipulative text about how we have both contributed to the situation we're in, how I've kicked him when he's down, how he's lost more than I will ever know etc.

Jethro has very recently lost his father to cancer, which is absolutely awful. I can't imagine how much pain he is in, and how much grief he is carrying. I genuinely feel awful for him and his situation, but I will not be manipulated by him anymore, I will not put his feelings before mine, I will not pander to his unreasonable requests, and I will not do something that hurts me (i.e talking to him) just for the sake of keeping the peace or keeping him happy. I explicitly told him to not contact me a few weeks ago, and he said he wouldn't, and this is the 6th or 7th time he has gone against his word since then.

I'm proud I was brave enough to tell him that I don't owe him anything because after everything, I really really don't.
