Destination Marketing Essay Brainstorm - Film Tourism?

My sole mark for this subject will be an essay on Film Tourism and I want to study a wide range of worldwide film tourism sites.

So......Who's been where? (Ones that have left behind tourist attractions and that I can get academic reports/articles etc on would be great!)

Thus far I have looked at:

Harry Potter - a scene that was filmed near Eastbourne and the rest in New Zealand

Angus, thongs and perfect snogging - Filmed in Eastbourne

Brighton Rock - Ironically filmed in Eastbourne

Beatrix Potter - some of it filmed in the lake district amongst other locations - the filming of this movie has created a tourist attraction for the lake district.

Bits of Braveheart was filmed pretty much up the road from me, in the Wicklow Mountains, I think! (Google that first though because I'm not certain - I just know some of it was shot here.) Also that horror movie Shrooms, I think.

I didn't know Some of Harry Potter was shot in Eastbourne!

I've never been but have you thought of looking at Hobbiton in New Zealand? That's actually been made into a tourist attraction I believe and the hobbit village parts of LotR (and also The Hobbit, I think) were filmed there.

Also if you need any help with the marketing type stuff feel free to PM me, part of my degree is tourism so I've had to do marketing stuff a few times.
