MY CAT IS IN HEAT AND WON'T STOP STICKING HER ARSE IN MY FACE!!!!
My bf said he'd take her to be neutered months ago but still hasn't... This is what I get for leaving him in charge of things!

Minor necro apologies etc, just wondering if any pet owners know good places to get decent collars? I got a lovely silver safety cat collar with free tag engraving for my last cat and it didn't even come to 4 euro including p&p, best I can find with engraving now is 13 euro! Any suggestions? :/

£2.15 + 95p postage (i'm not sure what that is in euro's) cheapest i can find with a safety buckle.

5-7 working days, if you can wait that long.

it looks like we've got another cat... at least temporarily.

on friday evening, as the lads were working on the truck and i was upstairs, chillaxing with the dogs, a random cat stomped into our house. moley saw her go in and followed her to go and turf her out when he realised something wasn't right with this cat.

a quick check and we discovered she was;

a: starving, literally. you can feel every bone in her body under her fur.

b: seriously dehydrated.

c: riddled with fleas and ticks.

d: pregnant.

e: has cat flu.

there's now way we could just turf her out.

on friday she looked on deaths door, at first i'd pegged her for a much older cat, possibly with thyroid problems or FIP, but on examining her she's really just a youngster, probably on her first litter, she looked so much older because she was so dehydrated, thin and harried looking. (she's obviously been searching desperatley for somewhere safe to have her babies before she keeled over and died of hunger/thirst) she drained two cat sized bowls of water the first evening like a student downing pints, i've had to give her a dog bowl instead!

we've clipped some of the fur away from some old wounds around her neck, at first i wondered i she'd been attacked by a dog/fox but now i've clipped then down a bit i can see it's where she's been ragging at herself so much because of the flea and ticks burden that she's damaged herself trying to get rid of them. (she was de-flead immediatley but i still itch when we have cuddle time, lol)

other than that though she looks so much better already, still skin, bone and kitten belly at this stage, but much happier. she's eating and drinking well and loves a cuddle, purrs like a steam train, albeit a snotty one. vets tomorrow or tuesday for a check up and antibiotics for her respiritory infection and then it's waiting for kittens!!

she still has no name, my suggestions of 'bob' (she's only got half a tail) and 'delilah' (i think she just kinda looks like a delihla) and 'random' (she's not local, she is a totally random cat we've never seen before) have all been vetoed so far, so suggestions are welcome. i'll get a pic up tomorrow to help with the inspiration.

She looks beautiful even when she's a poorly little kitty! I hope she recovers well and her litter's ok. As for kitty names, I think she looks a bit like a Vicky.

Hi guys, just wondered if anyone could give me a hand?

I'm looking for a larger cage for La (she is a Syrian Hamster and quite a sizeable one at that!). Currently her wheel is about 6 inches but she wraps around it too much and doesn't like using it because it's too wee. Something about 8 inches would be better.

Basically I want to stay away from Roshak cages as the tubes can be too small for Syrians and the ventellation is a bit rubbish. But something large enough for her to run around in, hopefully without tubes. Any recommendations? :)

^ I know nothing about hamsters or rodents in general, but a friend of mine's middle name is hamster - litterally, on Facebook anyway! I can put you in touch with her if you like? She's quite the expert x

i know a couple of hamster people that swear by these:

http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/hutches_cages/hamster_cages/hamster_cages/174238

the alexander cage: loads of floorspace and stuff to explore, nice deep base for burrowing and scuffling

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Karlie-Wonderland-Bogie-Wheel-Hamster/dp/B00140KYW4

possibly the daddy of all hamster wheels, and 8 inches as requested.

all of them are a bit pricey, but are well made. (they also pop up on ebay, so it's worth having a look there)

Oh just say your replies! Sorry chaps. Thanks very much Miss Chris, I think I've spotted a cage similar to the one Lady Carfax suggested (thank you very, very much) so hopefully I win the bid on ebay.

Thank you ladies x

Haha! I love watching the behaviour of the dogs when I walk with them, there is so incredibly much communication going on.

Senni having a roll in the sun

And now that we've been outside, they've had their food and been brushed down it seems they can happily snore away a few hours as long as nothing exciting happens.

Edit: I moved. Topsy pricks her ears in case it might be worth getting up.
