Still english coursework. This is a douchey thing to ask, but would someone mind reading through it and telling me how to improve? I need a fresh pair of eyes.

Just finished answering a psychology question, the answer to which seems immensely inadequate and am about to find the areas under some curves!! Yuss!!

Does anybody know where you can find worksheets about herbology? Furthermore, has anybody ever concocted their own facial cream or "first-aid cream"?

Look under theatre props suppliers in the yellow pages for a Burke and Hare. I hear they're good. ;)

Seriously, what's the coursework about, and how long is it?

Dave.

Working on two essays right now. One is on human impact on the environment/habitat destruction and the other is some bollocks about the cardiovascular system.

Reading The Great Gatsby and absolutely loving it. This is making me so optimistic. Well, the book itself isn't. It's sort of depressing in some ways, but HURRAH!!

Have started writing my dissertation, scary business. Only problem is that I can't carry on writing about the theme I started with until I've had a chat with my supervisor: I need to define my terms and situate them in critical background, but I did that for kennings and variation in my lit review and that was assessed work so I'm technically not allowed to reiterate it. Rock and hard place!

So now I'm defining terms etc for formulas, and it's actually quite fun. Woot.

Psychology essay on genetic explanations of schizophrenia.

Judging by the fact that I stopped halfway through and came onto mooky and am now making plans to see F, it's not going brilliantly.

Making a presentation on words that entered the Oxford English Dictionary in 1805. So lots of French Revolution/pseudoscience/geology/assorted literary toss.

Writing an essay about Kurosawa adaptations of Shakespeare plays. Or at least, that's what I ought to be doing. Instead, I just wrote a really long, whiny e-mail to a notorious womaniser in my university, because I have no self respect.

Meant to be writing a two-part essay on Oscar Wilde's 'The Picture of Dorian Gray'. It would be wonderful fun if I knew what they wanted. Something about an author-centred reading and defence.

If I get bored of that I can study ancient Greek and Roman entertainment, memorising terms and how that relates to the socio-economic trends of the time.

Or maybe I could just try and write about art galleries being made more religious to better treat viewers to a spiritual experience rather than 'just art'.

However I am creating a code and sewing.

Getting a bit distracted from my dissertation by my Women's Self-Writing essay...eek. Mind you, I'm trying to focus on getting the WSW done so it frees me up to get on with the dissertation, so it's swings and roundabouts really. It's quite an interesting essay, actually: I'm discussing the critical view that the development of a woman's identity in autobiography is dependent on their reliance to some kind of Other, i.e. the idea that by pitting oneself against a benchmark or a formative presence ones own identity comes to the fore, or is acknowledged as being shaped by this influence. It's really interesting, but I'm struggling to form a coherent argument.

Most of the stuff I have to do is revision on my own terms so I have an even bigger guilt trip if I don't complete it. I have Maths, Geography and Spanish along with my Grease script to look over, so although I can be fairly chill with it due to a lack of deadlines I still feel quite a large pressure to get cracking with it.
