RE: Exam Results thread! Share your news if you like.

So many intelligent mooks here! I was really happy with my results four years ago but now I feel like they pale in comparison to some of yours!

^Our school let people do five at special request last year, but they all gave them up within a few weeks.

EDIT-This was in response to akiamaya.

Charlie, you did EIGHT AS Levels? *dies of shock at the workload*

Nonononono, I did six (almost seven, but I dropped maths due to huge workload and I made a typo) so that's five in my first year, then dropping two, taking three onto A2 level and then taking up another AS.

So no, I'm not a girl genius. :)

This seems to be more about GCSE and uni and stuff like that so I don't really fit as I'm in grade 11 and I haven't finished the term either.
But I just got my second ever math assignment mark back and I nearly died from disbelief.
I promise you I understand none of this topic but I got an A (A,A-,A,A- to be exact but they can only give one grade so I get A). I would have gotten an A+ but I made a few (really) stupid mistakes, like taking the 1 before it was there and fail graphing...Though I did fairly well considering I did most of it the night before (and morning) it was due.
This will bring my term result up to a B+. I am even more determined to keep it there after the test. I've been trying for two years to get something higher than a B- in math.
I'll probably post in a few weeks with my term results.

A level mooksters, how do the new A*s work? I did my A levels a couple of years ago, and I'm quite curious. Is there just a split now at the top end of an A, or have they moved all the grade boundaries lower? 'Cause then I really can say exams were harder in my day ;)

^ It's if you scored over 90% in both AS and A level. It's like top end A, basically.

Ah cool. I wasn't sure how they worked. That's good, I'd been hearing rumour the grade boundaries had been moved and felt that was unfair to people who'd already taken them.

I thought I'd respond seeing as I said I would, but no one will read it most likely...

I failed the math test. Year 11 calculus. Half the grade failed apparently, that doesn't make me feel better. I've never gotten anything below a C+ in anything and the C+ was PE, I think I did one lesson and feinted half way through it.
I also got a C+ in Modern History, though I think my year average and the most recent test will help bring it back up to a B+... I hope. Don't even ask about Study of Religion or Ancient History.

I got a B in English and Business Communication and Justification.

It's good to see so many people doing well. biggrin I got 5 A*s, (in the three Sciences, Textiles, and German), 5 As, (Maths, English Language & Literature, Spanish, and Photography) and 2 Bs (in R.E and P.S.E). I also got a distinction in my ICT. smile

Edit: Oh, and I got a B in my stats module for AS maths. biggrin I was really worried about failing that one.

My degree: so far four firsts 73, 74, 78, and 78.
Considering my lecturers refuse to go past 80, it's not bad.
I did get an 80 last semester however :)

:D

I only know my mock results at the moment for three out of four of my AS subjects, and they were AAB.

This means I can prepare myself for CCU on results day.

I got my first C this year, in Chemistry. *sigh* And it was a C-.

Sadface.

*edit* Heeey, you all got some Cs too. Well, that makes me feel a bit better since you're all such a clever lot. The problem is that I never know what grades I should be getting since I never ask anyone else their grades, so I make myself crazy and try way too hard in order to "keep up."

I've just recieved my GCSE certificate from last year - one of my science modules must have been remarked because I've got an A* instead of the A I though I had :D Happy times. Apart from that I got another A* 6 A's, 4 B's and a D in an AS I did early.

Passed the first semester of uni with 2:1 across the board, which I'm very happy about considering a couple of the exams didn't go nearly as well as they could have... It's really motivated me to get my act together though, I'm aiming for firsts this semester.
