Dorian Gray. Meh. It was porn with a veneer of intellect. Whilst Ben Barnes is pretty, I prefer Oscar Wilde's words to BB sleeping with anything that comes on screen.

Last movie i saw was Surrogates... it was cool... it reminded me of a mix between matrix & chobits.

I really liked the contrast between the operators (the humans), which didn't take care of their appearance and where sortof ugly looking and their robots who were extremly pretty and perfect in every way....

... and Bruce Willis with hair? hhaha.. i prefere his rugged look :p

Where the Wild things Are.

Ticket: 10.50
Popcorn: 4:25
Having a grown-ass man sitting behind you bawling his eyes out: Priceless

It was good. It didn't really go anywhere, but it was good. It's not so much a kids movie, but rather a movie about childhood. It didn't really go much into detail about anything, but rather focused on Max's adventure. The ending was alright. It was tear-jerking and like I said, people were tearing up. There were some funny lines, some darker themes, but good overall.

I watched "Orphan" the other day. O_o
It was very average, but the end was fun when it all kicked off. And I thought the child actors were fantastic!

"The Curse of the Werewolf"
A Hammer Horror from the very early 60s, awful yet wonderful in the way most Hammer Horrors are. Also it stars a young, often shirtless Oliver Reed, so it's a winner.
Watch the hilarious trailer here.
I love the way he says, "Christina"
Hee hee.

The Men Who Stare At Goats
Intriguing, hilarious, smart and uplifting. Go and see this if they're still showing it near you.

^Is it actually about men who stare at goats?

Movie: Death Tunnel
Review: Really spooky, it made me jump quite a few times. But it was a little hard to understand at some points 'cause it kept flashing from scene to scene quickly. I enjoyed it, though.

Both me and Husband can hardly wait to see it.

Last night I saw Avatar in 3D. I suppose the story isn't exactly original, but I was just totally blown away by how immensely monster good it looks. Possibly isn't all that in normal 2D on a smaller screen, but in a good theatre it is worth paying until your eyes bleed to see it. Provided you have stereo-vision of course.

Right now, I don't really want to be me, I want to be a lithe, graceful cat-person living in harmony with the lovely untouched nature on a planet far far away. *sigh*

We saw it for a lark. As Husband put it: "It's supposed to be really bad, but fuck it -it's Victorian."

Actually it was quite fun watching it while making comments and sniggering. Like that scene with cuts between daintily eating cakes and greedy, voracious sex. We couldn't help but thinking that it would be quite hilarious if it had been done in reverse: greedy an voracious eating of cakes and daintily having sex.

Shallow Grave.
Wont write much because my stomach keeps wanting to push my dinner back up. I don't do well with blood, and there is a lot of blood. It's a gruesome, vile film yet marvellous at the same time. It's dark, filled with humour and shows corruption really well. A really Scottish film (Which is just aswell since it's set in Edinburgh)

Only problem is now I'm too freaked out to sleep. Sign of a sucessful film I suppose.

Cloverfield.
Surprisingly good, filmed from a video camera POV of a wierd monster thing attacking the city. Clever and I'd watch it again.

Did anyone else go 'is that it?' at the end?

I went to see "The Road" on Saturday, and I left utterly miserable.
It's well done, but ultimately just depressing and I was desperate for it to finish.

I go to the cinema a few times a week and see nearly all new films that come out in the UK. I've been disappointed by every single one released from December onwards (yes, including Avatar) except for Sherlock Holmes, which I think is absolutely fantastic and intend to buy on DVD soon as it's available.

i just watched drag me to hell. i actually thought it was going to be horrible, but it was good. it had the classic horror film feel to it. there was some ridiculous old school horror stuff, and the ending was good.

there was also a goat that called someone a whore. you can't not like that.

I absolutely did. Good film right until the last 2-3 minutes, after that I was flabbergasted.

I'd give it 3 stars (out of five)
A few good laughs, but I didn't think it was too special. Much prefered The Hangover xD

Princess and the Frog.

It has everything a great Disney Film should have:

*Lovely female heroine. I Don't think I have seen anyone quite so cool since Mulan.
*Great music. Probably the best music in any Disney Film ever.
*Humour. Like in genuinely slapstick funny moments.
*Scary and evil adversary who also have charm and believable reasons for being a meanie.
* Glorious use of colours.

And, it also have voodoo, love and strange creatures in the bayou.

I'm definitively going to watch this again. I need to buy it on dvd so I can use it to cheer me up when I feel ill and miserable.

^Awesome, I quite fancy seeing it.

In the last two days I've been to the cinema twice. This is UNPRECEDENTED as I hardly ever go.
Yesterday I saw Sherlock Holmes and absolutely loved it. I was completely engrossed in it, and Jude Law was really good as Watson, so good I forgot I can't stand the smug wanker. So go and see that for a bit of escapism.

Today I saw An Education which I would also recommend highly. I actually really felt for Carey Mulligan's character and I'd love to see her get the Oscar!

Crossing_%282008_film%29_poster.jpg

Film: Crossing

Quite possibly the saddest film I seen since 'Grave of the Fireflies', I can't say the ending because that would spoil it for anyone who might feel inclined to watch it, The film follows two people from North Korea, a father and his son. When the mother get's sick with tuberculosis the father has to cross to China to see if he can find the medicines that he needs to save her and his unborn child, the subplot follows the son and his crush. I won't say any more than that as it will spoil the plot. It is a very good movie but so sad.

Iīm a cyborg, but thatīs OK

Itīs a korean movie, made 2006. Itīs about a girl who thinks she is a cyborg, and therefore is send to mental hospital. The genre is romantic comedy, it has weird characters and is really amusing!

typical thriller called mindhunters, or mindkillers or something. People got killed in various ways, then the blonde chick saved the day. What else is new.

I tried to watch The Texas Chainsaw Massacre last night. It was pretty crap to be honest. It wasn't even fun to be taken lightheartedly. I did watch Arachnophobia though, which I really enjoyed!

I watched "The Devil's Backbone" the other night - it was really good, very well done. Another triumph for del Torro.
I have a real issue with modern horror in that it's all things jumping out, designed to make you jump, and I think this ruins loads of films. The Devil's Backbone had none of that and still managed to maintain a great tense atmosphere.

Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures- Another silly Hammer. Love them. One plot detail that was meant to be a shock was quickly revealed to me though. I'd recognise those baby blues anywhere ;)

I went to watch Avatar. My ever optimistic boyfriend convinced me that I was going to love it and that I should go see it. I'm not a great fan of James Cameron but I like Terminator 2, hate Titanic with a passion. Anyway, we went, I had to wear the 3-D glasses on top of my regular glasses, I looked really stupid. I have to say, i did actually enjoy it. The visuals was sumptuous and enticing. Pandora was a place of euphoric beauty. Makes you think about humankind and how it tries to make native people less "savage" for greed. Its not just about sci-fi geekdom. Plus, 3-D has gotten better over the years.
