| well, i've been a veggie my whole life, so its actually quite easy for me. its after part of my hare krishna faith. although i have ate meat once or twice, without intending to and threw it right back up straight away. (my dad smuggled it into my food as he thinks being veggie is silly)

| I've been a vegetarian for over a year now, and I did it because I believed it wasnt't moral to eat animals that had been bred just to be eaten. I believe they should have a chance to life...I know one person's decision isn't going to change what happens to them, but it clears my consciene a bit.

| I became vegetarian a couple of months ago but It has been bothering me for a long time (ever since i was little). This has probably been already said but....I don't like the idea of animals dying just so we can eat them in my opinion it's just not right. I respect the whole history of hunting to survive and all but really there is so much choice in food in this day and age we don't need to live by the classic roast meat and vegies anymore. When i was around 12 i tried to become full Vegetarian but wasn't allowed so i had to eat at least one meat (I chose chicken).
I've alway loved animals alot and the way the animals are treated and turned into meat is just cruel. The problem is alot of people don't understand this and don't really care much (like my family who think i'm a nutter and that i'm going to die or somthing) I think it's because alot of people are used to the classic ways of living and the food they grew up on or they just like the taste (I also coud'nt stand the taste and smell).
I think the thing that really did it was I looked down when we were having dinner once and thought 'this food in front of me is really dead', it sounds stupid but it's true isn't it? It was killed.
Anyway thats pretty much all the reasons i can think of :)

| I originally went vegan because I hated the cruelty associated with the meat & dairy businesses, and then found that it helped with my depression, stress, and overall health.
Every now and then, a friend will jokingly say something like, "I'm going to sneak meat into your salad!" I always want to respond, "Um, if you really WANT to put up with me when I'm paranoid and snippy, go for it."

| i love being a vegitarian and it is often more healthy (and deffinatly not anaemia inducing) to be veggie as long as you eat right. i have a bad disease (i dont like to say its name but it begins with a c and ends in an r) which means i am anaemic and immunodefficiant every month or so, but if anything i think being a vegitarian helps because it makes sure i have a healthy diet (yumyumyum tofu).
on the one hand being a meat eater is what humans have done forever and animals do naturally, but now that we have a choice doesnt it seem much less... murdery to be veggie?
